FLUID CHANDELIER

2017

7m led strip; blown and hand-crafted glass modules by Signoretto Lampadari - Murano

Fluid chandelier is an interior decoration element for lighting consisting of glass modules connected to each other through a flexible neon.
It is a reinterpretation of the traditional Venetian Rezzonico chandelier: while protecting and developing traditional forms and techniques, it is delivered in a flexible and modifiable form and, while maintaining the classic modularity of the classic Murano glass chandeliers, it intervenes on the relationship between glass and light, radically modifying it.

The profound intervention on the parts of the traditional chandelier "melts" the rigid structure and brings the light inside of glass through a flexible luminous element, giving the chandelier the feature of fluidity, and therefore allowing it the possibility of adaptation to the most diverse characteristics of the environmental context in which it is placed, as well as the possibility of modifying the chandelier's design.

The project was born from the collaboration with the Signoretto Lampadari company, in Murano, within the project "ma a che serve la luce?" a research path conceived and developed by the Atelier of Decorazione B of the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, aimed at favoring the continuation and enhancement, through its updating, of the forms, techniques and methods typical of Murano glass.
